Christian Focus Publications has announced that my forthcoming youth biography, Luis Palau: Calling the World to Christ, will be available on September 9th!
Here’s the publisher’s description of the book and Luis Palau’s “extraordinary” life story:
From Argentina to the World: The Extraordinary Life of History’s Most Traveled Evangelist
Discover the remarkable journey of Luis Palau, the man who became known as “the Billy Graham of Latin America” and whose voice reached over one billion people worldwide. In this compelling biography, Vance Christie chronicles the life of one of history’s most influential evangelists—from a grieving ten-year-old boy who lost his father in Argentina to a global messenger who proclaimed the gospel in over 80 countries.
Born into a humble Christian family in 1934, Luis Palau’s path seemed uncertain after tragedy struck early. Yet through faith, determination, and divine calling, he rose to conduct more than 480 evangelistic campaigns, festivals, and rallies, personally reaching 30 million people and touching countless more through radio broadcasts on 3,500 stations across 48 countries.
This inspiring account reveals how Palau overcame personal struggles, pioneered innovative evangelistic methods, and fearlessly preached in dangerous circumstances—from communist-controlled territories to regions threatened by guerrilla warfare. Readers will be moved by stories of dramatic conversions, from communist revolutionaries to government presidents, and witness how one man’s obedience to God’s call transformed millions of lives.
Perfect for readers seeking inspiration about God’s power to use ordinary people for extraordinary purposes, this biography demonstrates that no dream is too big when surrendered to divine purpose.
